The Science of Getting Rich - Offer more in Use Value than You Receive in Cash
In my previous article, I stated that people are moved to do business with people that they KNOW, LIKE and TRUST. I indicated that the Law of Attraction states that like attracts like, therefore you will attract people just like you to your business. I challenged you to consider if you are the type of person you would like to attract. In order to honestly answer that question, it is necessary for you to take a hard look in the mirror, and at your business.
The Science of Getting Rich book written in 1910 by Wallace D Wattles, and the inspiration for the hit movie "The Secret" tells us that in order to become rich, we must do things in a "Certain Way". We are advised that we should always give more in use value than we receive in dollar value. We are warned to move away from the competitive to the creative plane where we never have to take anything away from anyone, or drive sharp bargains, or cheat or take advantage. We are challenged to conduct our business so that the key thought of all our efforts is to convey the impression of increase. This increase is far more meaningful than giving a use value greater than cash value. It is something that we exude from our core.
If your business is one that takes advantage of others, that tricks, manipulates or fools people; if you are selling something that really offers no use value - even if you are achieving a level of financial success in doing so, you must stop immediately. The financial success you achieve in this manner is fleeting - "it is yours today and another man's tomorrow". Remember, like attracts like. If you are cheating others, you can expect to be cheated yourself. Your gain is temporary, and if you have a conscience, the damage to your psyche is not worth the financial gain anyway.
The only permanent and right way to become rich is by utilizing your creative mind. When you understand the Law of Attraction, it is not necessary for you to compromise your integrity. Scan your business. Look at your products, your services. Any that do not provide greater use value than the cash you take for it, stop promoting immediately. You are likely to feel an immediate sense of relief!
Become the person you want to attract into your business. Be honest, fair and trust worthy. Provide effective and efficient customer service. Return your phone calls and emails. Support your new partners. When you are genuinely interested more in your customer's experience than your own gain, they will "feel" that increase mentioned earlier. Position yourself, posture yourself with confidence, but do not be boastful. "Wherever you find a boastful person, you find one who is secretly doubtful and afraid". When you hear someone brag about their success, know that they are doubtful and afraid.
This is a difficult concept for many of us. We often believe that giving for the purpose of receiving is wrong, but it is really just business. It is the person who denies this, who fails to acknowledge or recognize the nature of a positive business transaction that fails to present himself in the way of providing "increase". This is the person who claims to give something for nothing, and we see them all the time in network marketing businesses. Think about the free mentoring programs you have been offered. There is really no such thing as free. There is a cost in every transaction. You receive "free" tools, e-books, mentoring or other valuable products or services in exchange for your name and your contact information. There is no monetary cost, but you are making an exchange. It's just business. This is not manipulative on its own, but if you are being told that there are no strings, you are not being told the truth. At a minimum, you have become an opt in lead.
When you pretend to be something or someone that you are not, you are working from the competitive mind and if you see success, it will not be lasting. When you truly are giving greater value than you receive, everybody will know it, and you will have no lack of customers. "People will go where they are given increase; and the Supreme which desires increase in all, and which knows all, will move toward you men and women who have never heard of you."
Altruism as as wrong as selfishness, and neither will help you advance in your business. Do not give of all of your time, energy and resources for nothing in return. This benefits neither person in the transaction. Keep your transactions fair - to both you and your customers. If you are giving of your time, energy and resources for seemingly nothing in return, scan the transactions to determine the benefit to you. Most often, you will have started the giving with the intent of receiving something in return - and that is fair. Do not deny the benefit to you or allow others to hold you in high regard for your selflessness. It is not genuine, and may be based on a temptation to seek authority, or to become a "master" or one who is above others. Again, this is the competitive mind.
You can now see why it is necessary to take that long hard look in the mirror and to thoroughly scan your business to determine whether you are truly the type of person you want to attract into your business. You can only attract others like you. Nothing more, nothing less.
Watch for an upcoming article explaining why we never need to act hastily, or take any action at all until we are absolutely certain of the action to take. In fact let's put the notion of "no pain no gain" to bed. Let's make our work effortless and more productive instead!
